Samus attempted to call after Link, but nothing worked. With a small frown, and a bit of worry [who went after that ... thing willingly!?], she turned back to Snake and began to answer his question.
"Zebes is a planet." She stated bluntly, evidently a bit annoyed. "But, it's where I was raised. Has about ... 6 layers to it? I can't remember right off. But some ... person got in there and managed to get a shitton of spiders ..." Samus trailed off, and let out a small sigh. Beaten by spiders. How ... thoroughly embarrassing for someone like her. It was ... ugh.
"And where do you come from, anyway?" She asked, trying to get the subject off of her own home.

"Earth," Snake replied flatly. To him it was a bit obvious, but who knew? After all, she looked pretty human and was, apparently, from a different planet. Though, that did leave the question of how people from different planets could meet on a path.

K-2L ... No, that was an Earth COLONY. This was ... just Earth. Samus nodded curtly, and started to walk ahead.
"I wouldn't go down there, if I were you, as said," she began, holding up her Paralyzer. "If you can be the exterminator, be my guest, but I doubt it." She was leaving the path herself, and it seemed only logical to take this guy with her. She didn't want ANYONE crushed by that damn spider.
Samus was worried about that kid--Link, was it?--she wasn't going to lie. But he ran off ahead, and she couldn't follow unless if she wanted to die, too.
"Come on."

Snake fell into step behind her, back in the direction he had come from. Maybe the path back to Shadow Moses was back. But...there had been six other paths, as well. Maybe she had a clue about them.
"Any idea where those other paths lead to?" he asked, assuming she was aware of the barren rock world.

"Aren't you inquisitive," Samus remarked. She glanced behind her, arched an eyebrow, and then looked ahead, being careful of the twists and turns on the path. Once they reached the center again, they were fair game.
... Other paths? Oh, yes, those. The other 7 or so paths that were branching out. The other people at that little gathering ... they had all obviously come from different areas, and thus, more than likely, all from different paths. It took a moment for her to respond.
"Not a clue," she replied, mocking enthusiasm. "I suppose the best way to find that out is to take a look at one by one. Starting with not this one."

"I got it the first four times you said not to go that way," Snake remarked. "You made your point."
Mission: don't be a smart ass. Status: epically failed. Oops.
And it probably wasn't a great idea to mouth off to a woman with a gun that wasn't thrilled at him being there, anyway.

Samus paused, turned around, and snarled.
"Obviously, that kid running in didn't get it. How should I know that you won't do the same thing he did?" She paused.
"Here's the answer: I don't. I have every damn right to be paranoid, smart-ass." Samus turned and stormed off, evidently leaving him in the dust until he decided to catch up. That damn idiot! Suddenly, she remembered why she didn't keep company, period. Usually, they were extremely stupid! There were only a few exceptions, but none of them were here, were they?

Snake caught up again fairly quickly (despite the path being an evil, vile thing and trying to throw off all that walked upon it). "The kid seemed like he knew what he was doing," he pointed out. After all, the kid had seemed to recognize whatever Samus was talking about, and he had seemed pretty eager to haul ass after it. (Once again, Snake didn't see much of a correlation between 'giant demon spider' and 'MUST FIND' but to each their own)

Link had stopped to listen to the two bicker again. Deciding that perhaps he should put an end to it, he hurriedly approached them once more. "Armogohma; twilit spider. Its eye is the abdomen of a much smaller arachnid. Pretty much a small spider in a huge shell." he turned his crystal blue gaze towards Samus. "Tell me; do you have any statues in this Zebes? If so, I can make easy work of them..."
(That is why I asked for statues. >_>)

[[ *pokes the video* ]] Samus was about to retort, but she heard Link call out, and she turned to reply to him instead. Plus, he had information. Useful. "... Armogohma is that thing's name. ... And it was surrounded by a shell. No wonder nothing I did hurt it," she mused quietly, glancing away from the young Hylian. A moment passed after his question, and she gave a small nod. "... Yes. But be careful. They're ancient Chozo relics, and if I find ANY of them harmed ..." she narrowed her eyes and glared daggers at Link as she spoke. "... I will not be happy." So this kid did know what he was doing. Maybe a few more questions wouldn't hurt. "Know anyone that could control that thing?"

He winced at the tone of harshness in her voice, but stood firm. "They may be damaged in the process." he replied, taking out the Dominion Rod. "This rod has the power to turn statues to life and harness their strength." He cradled it carefully. At her second question, his eyes also narrowed. "That creature that tossed me earlier. Zant. He is the Ki... FALSE king of Twilight. He's insane, and wants to take over the kingdom along with the help of ... Ganondorf. I've got no time to explain. Quickly, we must get back to Zebes and hopefully use these statues of yours to defeat Armogohma."

Samus saw Link wince, and instantly seemed to regain her composure. Her voice softened, and took on a cooler tone. ... Zant. That was the ... thing that threw this boy. She furrowed her eyebrows, and began to think. She had a bad feeling about him from the start, and him harming her homeworld just sealed the deal.
"Whoa. What's with this 'we?'" Samus asked promptly. "you can find the statues in the Chozo Ruins, on Crateria--the uppermost layer on Zebes. You can get up there by going to the center of Brinstar, the part with two side-walls, and leaping into the air." Why was she telling him this? She wanted to run? ... No. She couldn't beat that thing without her armor.
"I can't join you. I have to hide out for a while and repair my armor. This 'Armogohma' obliterated it." She paused in her slight soapbox speech for a moment, trying to think of what other information could come in handy for the kid. He was going to save her home; she owed him quite a bit, but there was no way in hell she was going to admit it.
"There might be some statues alive already; they are called Torizo, and they can fire lasers from their eyes. There are more powerful ones called the Golden Torizos, but they act mindlessly. Be careful." Silence.
"... I wish I could help."

"Strength in numbers... But wait. the Twilight. You can't come with me, anyway..." Link replied. He closed his eyes. "Samus, I'll need you to show me where to go, somehow. I doubt you have maps where you explore."

"The Twilight--... never mind." Samus shook her head. One too many questions. She could just assume that it was bad, and that her gut feeling was accurate. Well, that's one thing that's gone right today.
"I can give directions, but that's about it. ... Can you carry maps?"

Link smirked and nodded. "I'm all too familiar with them." Hopefully this would be easy. But, one problem... how would he be able to go into the Twilight in his human form? This plan would need to be re thought out...
