Each pathway has its own unique features. Refer to this post for all of them.

Hyrule passageway:This passageway is the easiest one by far to get into. The constant mist grows weaker the closer you get to the portal, and near the end, you swear you can hear the songbirds singing and the wind blowing. It is a straightforward path, with only one thing distinguishing it; two stone guardians looming over the area, giving the appearance of griffins.
---
Zebes passageway: While also somewhat straightforward, instead of a straight line like the Hyrule path, it twists and turns into a seemingly dangerous, curvy road. You must tread lightly here, for one small mis-step or jump, and you will plummet towards your death in the mist.
---
Astro City passageway: It is a maze. If one does not track their progress, they will be left wandering for what seems like an eternity; there are four paths and four 'tests' you must pass to get through.
The paths are distinguished by one minor detail; say, if there are three stones on three paths, and four stones on a lone, then the one with four stones is the correct path. One must keep a close ey on things.
If not careful, you'll wind up back at the start.
---
To Shadow Moses: There is a distinct smell of war. The senses are heightened, and the cries of those slain in battle wail constantly, seeking peace for their own tormented souls. The path is straight and narrow; one must tread lightly, not panic, and have a strong heart to make it through this miserable road.
The closer you get to the portal, the more snow there appears to be ...
---
To Huntsman Borough: This path is straight and wide, giving people easy access. It looks very appealing, easier than Hyrule's path ...
But when you get near the portal, you feel an odd sensation. It's in your throat, like your vocal chord is being altered ... without your permission. After that, if you still feel stable enough, you eventually smell the distinctive aroma of iron fill your nostrils.
---
To Gotham: It's a long, long road towards Gotham, and the closer you get, the darker Alicuna seems to become ...
Eventually, it goes pitch black, and you are unable to see. You must rely on your other senses and tread carefully if you wish to make it to the hellhole city.
---
To Death City: This road towards the Death God's domain is a bright and cheerful one. You seem to have the urge to hum a tune, or do a little dance.
Yet, at times, if one is not stable, a small amount of madness sets in. It is recommended to have at least two people walking this road at once, so the mad can be guided to safety.
---
To Cybertron: It is almost impossible to fall off; the path is wide enough for the vehicles or beasts to trudge down, and it is a short walk for them ... and yet, for a normal human, it can be a very tedious journey to the robotic planet.
