- No pre-made relationships with canon characters. If one develops in rp, that’s fine, but you can’t just drop a character in and say they’re ‘such and such’s brother/sister/aunt/uncle/father/girlfriend/dog/etc.’
- No rape plots unless you can prove you aren’t doing it just for pointless wangst. If you want a rape plot, you have to consult a mod and we’ll discuss it.
- Attempt to have them make some semblance of sense with the canon they’re made for. We’ll be lenient, but no cat-girls or such in Gotham and no organic creatures from Cybertron.
- No all powerful, mighty characters. This means you also have to include weaknesses, and ‘he’s human’ does /not/ count as a weakness. Weaknesses could be mental or physical. Be creative.
!--- This also means an OC can’t have the key to saving all the worlds. That doesn’t lay on one character. Why? It’d kill the rp. - Remember; OCs are only if you have a canon character, or can’t take a canon character, and you /will/ be tested. We don’t want the forum over run with random OCs, and we will turn your character away if we disapprove. You might get another chance, but if we think the character is hopeless we’ll tell you plainly.
- Speak plain English. If you start saying orbs or pillars or audits or whatever instead of eyes, arms or ears, we get testy. It’s a character, not a doll or a construction site or a bank. Unless your character is straight out of a romance novel. In which case, they’ll be turned away anyway, since we don’t have an romance novel verses right now. So sad.
- We’re cracking down on this, so OCs require approval from all three mods, not just two of us.
- This should be obvious, but no Mary Sues or Gary Stus. The test at the top should help with that.
- If, after making an OC, it starts to slide down the slippery slope of Sueness, we’ll let you know. If you don’t fix it, that character is banned until it /is/ fixed.
- OCS ARE ONLY FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE TRULY PROVEN THEMSELVES CAPABLE TO HANDLE IT AND A CANON, OR PEOPLE WHO AREN’T FAMILIAR ENOUGH WITH A FANDOM TO PLAY A CANON CHARACTER (and they still have to prove themselves).
Maybe, MAYBE, as time goes on and we get more canon characters, we’ll be more lenient with OCs. Maybe. Don’t get your hopes up.
