Timeline:
Day: 8/9/09
Time: 4:00 PM.
Twilight hung in the air like little pieces of glass, suspended without gravity in the abyss of space. Only this wasn't space, it was the catacombs of Brinstar. The air was oddly silent, yet at the same time filled with the mumblings and scratchings of baby gohmas, corrupted by the twilight they lived in now, going about their daily business of hunting and eradicating the local wildlife. Hunters to hunted, one might say, as the foreign life was completely changing the ecosystem of the planet. Even the bulblins, had come with Zant to his new hovel, using the natural acid as a new found tool in order to carve out hallows and barricades in the new environment.
Down the elevator shaft, down even deeper into the depths, Zant stood were once Kraid had, on a single foot at the tip of his toe. The once primal room had been sheered to flat surfaces, with blue lines running around the corners of the room. To Zant, it felt an awful lot like home, but home lay through a pixel-like spiraling portal behind him. Through the air above him, sailed four stone statues in his own visage. Each time one sailed down, Zant's hand was waiting to catch it and toss it back up with the others. Juggling, one might call it. With each soar of a statue, Zant's thoughts concentrated on the matters at hand.
This was a new world. It was completely different, every bit of it alien from Hyrule. Even though the Skrees reminded him of Keesh, they could not be confused with one another, and Keesh weren't really a good predator to begin with. The technology he had expected, after having his minions fallow the armored woman back here, was sparser than he expected but present. However, to work it..Was a matter different all together. Then again, what race would make technology so easily stolen? These machines, all one would have to do was be one of them! One statue, came falling down. Caught by the very tassels of his sleeves, it was whipped back into the air.
Then there was the barren desolate place, he decided to call the crossroads. In Twili, though, it was said and spelled as Alicuna. This mysterious land, was only found by going through that shred of mist and suspended rocks. One path lead to here, and another to Hyrule, but where did the other paths go? Each one, must lead to another world. Another place, another time, and more to conquer. Just stepping through the strange portals in the Alicuna, was enough to transport you to another place. What if he could choose where the portals came out? Manipulate them? No, he did not need that. Twilight was always connected to Twilight, and this world lacked light spirits to protect itself. So, neither did the other worlds. With perfect accuracy, another statue was tossed into the air from a free fall, arcing above the others.
But what to do with this? Surely, he would need a native to this land in order to use the technology, and it appeared that the armored woman was the only one left. Pity. That woman, had gone back out the portal and escaped for now. Zant, would need to go after her, but too which world had she gone? Surely she wouldn't stay in the Alicuna, she would probably would seek refuge in one of the other worlds. Once again, perfect. While Zant would conquer the other worlds, he would eventually come across the hunter and capture her. Once in the Twilight, after all, only one was unbound to him and his lord's service. Only Link. With a twinge, Zant remembered that he was still out there. His statues fell to the ground, standing perfectly up on their base all around him.
"The faster I move, the less time he has.." Zant muttered, and soon his boots clanged against the stone floor..
This was not the time for rest.
